Part One

I forget exactly when I received The Enlightenment in the mail for the first time. Like many I just threw it away without bothering to read it. I had no idea why I was being sent the newsletter, as I wasn’t a subscriber, nor was I into all that new age self enlightenment collective consciousness mumbo-jumbo. Month after month newsletters continued to arrive in my mailbox and I threw them away, too. It wasn’t until early 1999 that I actually began reading the newsletter and, much to my amazement, found that The Enlightenment was the most wonderful thing I had ever read. Guru Mujaputtia Umbababbaraba (popularly known as The Mooj) turned out to be someone I could totally believe in. I became His devotee instantly and remained loving and loyal till the bitter end, when he either disappeared or suffered a horrific death.

Contained in this book are the first dozen or so of the earliest newsletters in my collection. I have approximately fifty in all and will include the remainder in follow-on volumes. I wish I had the earlier newsletters; but, like I said, I threw them away. It is important that you realize before reading this work that Guru Mujaputtia Umbababbaraba (aka The Mooj) was a real person and His adventures were true. I only met Swami Mooj once and it was enough to last a lifetime. May he rest in peace, wherever the hell he is.

Part Two

What follows in this work is a continuation of The Enlightenment newsletters. This Volume will roughly be about the same number of issues published in Part One. As many long-time devotees know, this ‘era’ of Moojism (i.e., the period following his capture in Memphis ) was unlike any other is the life of Guru Mujaputtia Umbababbaraba. Some say The Mooj became more human; while others say he just drank a lot and was poorly influenced by Lance Worthy (his traveling companion during these months). I have a different take. I think The Mooj simply became a better Guru, using his weaknesses (and the weaknesses of those around him) to re-enlighten his many devoted followers.

The dozen or so newsletters that follow are filled with many ‘ups’ and ‘downs.’ No less than three times does The Mooj suffer a horrendous setback (financially, morally and physically) and, yet, he still prevailed. I like to think of these times as The Golden Era of Moojism.

Come! Let’s become One with The Mooj again, as we travel with him from the Hospital of Memphis all the way to …. Actually, I don’t want to ruin any surprises. Let’s just say many miles are trodden as The Mooj continues his journey to true enlightenment.
